This portfolio is for reference as a testimony to my diverse and integrated skill set.
History:
During High School I worked with a framing crew building houses. This taught me the basics of building. After High School I learned how to work a sewing machine, pattern making, and entrepreneurship. With these skills I started a pants company called Jonny Jeans. Teaching myself HTML programming got me a job at Internet 5 were I used Photoshop and HTML in Notepad to create web sites for clients. I then started Oracle Cases making mirrored metal, ABS plastic, and fur luxury music equipment cases for musicians. While I was working on my company I was sheetrocking for Gunderson Drywall for several years until I started sheetrocking on my own. After realizing I couldn't be doing physical labor forever, I went back to school for architecture and structural engineering. For the last twenty years I have been making fully immersive environments. First everything was in my parents house, then in my apartments, now in my home. My style has changed dramatically over the years. Each change has introduced new materials into my repertoire. In order to work with these materials I learned tools such as silk screens, molds for plaster, rubbers, and plastics, all saws, routers, drills, nail guns of all types, metal bending machines, rivet guns, concrete pouring and coloring, paint guns, computer programs of every type, and computer hardware. This diverse skill set attracted me to Urban Outfitters. I conceived and built large scale sculptural installations at Urban Outfitters as a Display Artist for fourteen years. While there I lead teams at store openings and prototypes creating large scale sculptural displays. I was also a mentor teaching Display Artists work ethic, behavioral psychology, social intelligence, and wisdom. For one year I designed and developed furniture, jewelry stands, kitchen products, hardware, and other housewares as Urban's Senior Hardgoods Designer. My wife Lindsey and I started a baking company four years ago called Coco Love Perfect Pairings. We make Perfectly Paired Tea and Tea Cookies. Running our company utilizes every skill we have collected throughout our life. To support growth we also do design and build work for offices and residential. We are non-stop building for our families legacy. This constant mindset has hardwired our body's for endurance, our mind's for problem solving, and our spirit's for creating.
